The Steirischer Herbst Art Festival Sep 26-Oct 19. For 40 years the Steirischer Herbst has been one of the worlds few festivals dedicated to contemporary art. Theater performances exhibitions public debates readings and screening are on the art menu. Public debates will invite you to participate if you are passionate enough to support your thesis. The festival presents and supports current artistic working methods, characteristic styles and discourses.

Festival of Lights, Berlin Oct 9 – 18. More than than 45 of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks and historic buildings will be illuminated during the evenings of the Festival of Lights. Special ‘lightseeing tours’ by bus, boat or bicycle are offered. The festival, with its laser shows, light projections and fireworks, transform Berlin in a magical city. Just be there to enjoy the show!

Cannstatter Volksfest, Stuttgart Sep 26- Oct 11 The fair for almost 200 years has enjoyed enormous popularity and attracts annually more than four million visitors from all over the world. the special atmosphere of the fair captivates everyone and especially the little ones. Festival tents, a colorful flea market, food, beer, wine, bands, parades, roller coasters and a large Ferris wheel are sure to impress the entire family.

Fish Market, Flensburg October 11. If you enjoy fish then this is for you. Once a month,
from 9am to 6pm, visitors can find Flensburg’s Fish market along the harbor promenade with more than 60 stalls offering fresh caught fish, culinary delicacies. There are clothes and decorative items for the home and a children carousel. At the border with Denmark the event gives a unique opportunity to visit also Denmark.

Frankfurt Book Fair Oct 14-18. The perfect place for book lovers publishers and authors. The Frankfurt’s book fair is the world’s largest book trade show. Visitors can take a look into the international book scene and enjoy readings exhibitions concerts films and of course books.

Freimarkt, Bremen Oct 16- Nov 1. One of the oldest folk festivals in Germany. Throughout the 17-day long festival, the city  attracts over four million visitors and has more than 320 attractions, rides and fireworks.

Anniversary Concert in Dresden Oct 24. A special event for music lovers. The Dresden Music Festival presents a special concert to mark the celebrations of the ten-year anniversary of the reconstruction of the famous Frauenkirche. The program for the evening includes the European premiere performance of a newly commissioned work by Wolfgang Rihm one of the most significant German composers of our time.
